    May is Asian Heritage Month! We celebrate the contributions done by Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.

    • May 17th: International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT)

    • May 1st:
      • 12PM – 2PM – Hands Off Rally/Mayday Picnic. See details below.
      • 5PM – Mayday at the Fellowship and on Zoom. Remembering Mayday as International Workers Day. Mayday, which occurs halfway between the Northern Hemisphere’s Spring equinox and the June solstice, is celebrated with maypoles. We will have an open mic as continuation from the Hands Off Picnic as well as presentation of various celebrations of Mayday.
    • May 2nd:
      • Helping Inn Ministry: we are looking for volunteers at 4pm-5:30pm to help distribute items.
    • May 6th:
      • 10AM – Downtown Faith Alliance meets at the Fellowship – we are examining the causes of and solutions to homelessness and hunger in our community.
    • May 13th:
      • 6PM – Freetown Port Rico meeting at 800 E Vermillion St., Maison Freetown. Our Fellowship is in the Freetown – Port Rico neighborhood and we’re in the process of examining our Coterie Plan. Come and make your voice heard and participate in the neighborhood.

    HAPPENINGS

    Bayou Vermillion District Talk

    Last Sunday, we had Brady McKellar from Bayou Vermillion District give us a rundown of the work that he conducts. The goal of the Bayou Vermilion District is to improve the water quality of the Bayou Vermilion as well as its aesthetics, but their work is not limited to just these two things. Thank you Brady for stopping by and sharing your work with us!

    Mayday Picnic – May 1st

    A Mayday Picnic will be happening at Prejean Unity Park (aka Prejean Point) on 735 Jefferson St., which is at the corner of Jefferson St. and Lee Ave. in Downtown Lafayette. It will be on May 1st from 12PM-2PM. We plan to return to the Fellowship afterwards for further Mayday celebrations.

    Meditations on Thursdays

    MaryAnn Doyle invites you to join her in a series of meditation sessions. If you’d like to attend, please stop by! This is an informal event. Meditations will occurs on Thursdays at 3:30PM.
