UPCOMING EVENTS
- May 1st:
10AM – Downtown Faith Alliance meets at the Fellowship – we are examining the causes of and solutions to homelessness and hunger in our community.CORRECTION 4/28: This will occur on May 6th not May 1st.- 5PM – May Day at the Fellowship and on Zoom. Remembering May Day as International Workers Day. May Day, which occurs halfway between the Northern Hemisphere’s Spring equinox and the June solstice, is celebrated with maypoles. We will have an open mic as continuation from the Hands Off Picnic as well as presentation of various celebrations of May Day.
- May 2nd:
- Helping Inn Ministry: we will be collecting hygiene items for Inn Ministry on Sunday the 27th and delivering them on May 2nd. We are also looking for volunteers at 4pm-5:30pm to help distribute items. See details below.
- May 6th:
- 10AM – Downtown Faith Alliance meets at the Fellowship – we are examining the causes of and solutions to homelessness and hunger in our community.
- May 13th:
- 6PM – Freetown Port Rico meeting at 800 E Vermillion St., Maison Freetown. Our Fellowship is in the Freetown – Port Rico neighborhood and we’re in the process of examining our Coterie Plan. Come and make your voice heard and participate in the neighborhood.
HAPPENINGS
Inn Ministry — April 27th/May 2nd
We will be gathering personal hygiene items on April 27th to be delivered on May 2nd. We are also looking for volunteers to help hand out items from 4pm-5:30pm. We are looking for the following items:
- 6 tubes of toothpaste (any size)
- 6 bars of soap
- 6 men’s deodorant
- 3 women’s deodorant
- 4 shampoos
- 5 laundry detergent (smaller bottles)
- 4 dish washing liquid
Discussion Group led by Jan Castille
On April 20th, we had our monthly discussion group. The topic was God, the Divine, and Building Beloved Community. Jan Castille led the discussion group. Bill, our photographer, took the pictures.
