ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • We are happy to announce that Dale's surgery was deemed successful. He appreciated the card and flowers the congregation sent him (that was delivered to his hospital room by Andre and Mary).  He was in good spirits and hopes to be back on his feet shortly.

EVENTS

This past Sunday we had a great sendoff for Julius Mittag, a German exchange student hosted by UU member, Bruce Snow.  Julius has been a delightful addition to our fellowship for the past nine months, and there was a great outpouring of appreciation from the congregation throughout the service. The service ended with a skit extolling Julius's contributions to the fellowship (professionally performed, I'm sure everyone will agree, by Lauren, Chris and Mary) and the presentation of a small gift.  He willl be sorely missed. We were honored to have Julius's father Herr Ferdinand Mittag, in attendance.

POTLUCK: We had another delicious potluck with our amazing speaker, Consuela Gaines.

NEW CHALICE: We are extremely grateful to the Rev. Julien Kain for the loan of the elegant chalice of classic UU design.  Thank you, Julien for honoring us with it.

The Inn Ministry Please consider buying a few items during your weekly grocery trip to donate to The Inn Ministry, and bring them to service. There is a box as you enter to the left.  Shelf-stable milk and pull top cans are good for those “on the street”. Someone donated mac & cheeses in a cup.  Those went really fast! Cash donations go to buying bus passes for those who need transportation to work, as well as for the unhoused to get out of inclement weather for a while.  The generosity of this UU fellowship has been remarkable!   The food is gratefully received.

Pride Fest:
Our UU Fellowship is planning to take part in the Pride festivities on June 29.   We hoped to set up a table with activities while sharing some UU information and spirit, however  all vendor booths have been sold.  Our booth last year drew lots of visitors, so we're hoping to somehow squeeze in.   We still need volunteers to walk in the parade as we carry our UU banner.   If you are interested in helping out or in marching in the parade, contact Mary or Chris. Thanks to those who have already volunteered!

Discussion Group:  We had a lively discussion group by led Julien Kain this past Sunday after service.  The group usually meets each 3rd Sunday.  You're invited to join us for next month's discussion.
