Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lafayette Week of January 29 - February 4, 2024

Our theme for February is Hope

This Sunday’s sermon:Active Hope” by Rev. David Schwartz UU of Boulder

We need hope. While some classify hope as an emotion, it is more an expectation, a belief in a positive outcome, in possibility, the triumph of goodness, difficulty faced, fear overcome, or despair vanquished

ANNOUCEMENTS:

Yea! Our water pipes are repaired thanks to our landlord, Mr. Mouton! We are back in our building!

Remember to renew your signature in the UU Membership Book if you have not yet done so this calendar year. Anyone wishing to become a member is welcome to sign at any time.

Our Pledge Drive for 2024 started in January. Your monetary pledge helps us determine the annual budget for the year.

Upcoming elections will be held in February. Please contact Mary Guirard, chair of Nominating Committee, at (337) 519-8553 or maryguirard@yahoo.com if you are interested in running for an office.

After service, join us at a local restaurant, selected by participants, for a chance to continue our fellowship.

We are still collecting donations for The Inn Ministry. They are asking for donations of fresh produce, especially fruit, such as apples and oranges, but vegetables and salad greens, also.  They continue to need powdered milk, peanut butter, and protein. Cash donations are always needed for bus passes.

February is American Heart Month and African American History Month.
