Greetings fellow UUs and supporters! We are meeting IN PERSON and on Zoom until further notice. Our theme for May is Courage. The root of courage is corage, the Old French word for heart (as the seat of emotions). In Middle English, uses included bold corage meaning “brave heart.” As Aristotle said, “Courage is the first of human virtues because it makes all others possible.” Courage is essential to wield power non-violently in opposition to all that diminishes or negates life. Courage makes repair of the world possible. --- Sunday, May 22nd Service: Rev. Rebecca Bryan explains the Seven UU principles and proposed 8th principle, and asks questions about each of them. We ponder these questions during this service and write responses in breakout groups. We then share our responses for the benefit of the Fellowship for our continued growth. Members, supporters and Zoomers who are unable to attend the service in person -- You can fill out this online form which contains the questions and your answers now or during the service. Thank you! --- Please visit us either in person at 1119 Johnston St. or on Zoom [tinyurl.com/zoomuulala or via the link at uulala.org]. We visit with coffee and snacks from 10:30-11 am. The service runs from 11 am until 12 noon. After the service we pick a restaurant for lunch and fellowship. Everyone is invited. Service outline Service slides Sermon video Video transcript --- Last Sunday's service recap: At our yearly flower ceremony, we celebrated renewed life, and recognized the important role of the pollinators (especially bees) who are responsible for about half of our produce -- some of which are, sadly, endangered due to man's activities. Some members brought flowers and there were enough to share with everyone. At the end of the service we took a different flower home with us from a shared vase. Thanks to everyone who participated and to the Services Committee who are responsible for putting together such wonderful and informative services! ---
