UU Fellowship of Lafayette

Greetings fellow UUs and supporters!

We will be meeting ONLY on Zoom until further notice.

Our theme for October will feature services focused on reverence -- deep respect for someone or something.

Sunday, October 17th Service:

Making the Earth Sacred Again.png
Reverend Dr. Marylin Sewall asks the question '... is it not possible even in this mechanistic world we have created to cultivate attitudes of thankfulness, of connection with the earth, of recognition of our interdependence with all other species? To cultivate a spirituality that is more inclusive than just our personal relationship with the Divine, just our personal salvation, but rather a spirituality that acknowledges our relationship with and dependence upon the earth and all her creatures?' Her sermon suggests that it is, and she suggests ways in which we may make a difference.

Visit us this coming Sunday at 10:30 am for fellowship or 11 am for the service via the Zoom link here or at uulala.org. If you are unable to attend, then you may view the interactive service slides here or the sermon text.
If you are on Facebook the service event is here.

After the service, from 2-4 pm we will join the Faiths 4 Climate Justice rally by meeting in front of the UU church building. See more info below.

Last Sunday's service recap:
This Zoom service's sermon 'Can We Talk Over A Cup Of Coffee' was originally given by Rev. Colleen Squires and is available for viewing on Vimeo.  She defines 'church' as a place where we can become better people and build a better world together. We are in the business of transforming lives. But some people want to be part of either the church of Sunday morning worship and others may want to be a part of a transformational community where people grow together and help each other to find meaning.
