Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lafayette
Hello UUs and supporters!
This Sunday's service title is 'The Cure For Burnout (hint: it isn't self-care)'.
This Sunday's service is about Burnout and how to deal with it. The in-person service will be followed by a potluck dinner. Bring a favorite snack, entrée, or dessert. We will also be broadcasting the service via the Zoom link here and on our uulala.org web page. Burnout is not a medical condition. It's a condition related to overwhelming stress. One of the things that causes burnout is our inability to recognize the hard stuff welling up inside us. And the solution is to be able to turn toward the difficult feelings with kindness and compassion and say oh I feel stressed, I feel unreasonably angry right now. I'm so cranky I wonder why that is? Ask that feeling why are you there? What do you need from me? What has to change? We have to overcome the fear of uncomfortable feelings.
Fellowship from 10:30 until the service at 11 am. If you are unable to attend, you may view the interactive service slides. Visit us for this service via the Zoom link on the uulala.org web page. On Facebook? View the Service event here.
NOTE: There will be a potluck dinner after the service. Feel free to bring a snack, entree or dessert. --- Scott Ferguson, Services |
