    WHAT’S THE BUZZ

    Rummage Sale

Today we met at church to load up our cars with items that had been delivered there. Then we went to Jockey Lot to set up tent, umbrella, and tables and to unload items. Bruce and Morris arrived with filing cabinets. There is still much to do. Some are arriving at 7 a.m. to set up in order to be ready for 8:00 when Jockey Lot opens. Plans are to break down at 3 p.m. We will definitely need help at that time to haul away the unsold items.

The Gathering Discussion Group, led by Rev. Julien Kain, met after last Sunday’s service.

    Postcard Writing

Many thanks to all who participated in the writing of postcard efforts.  The UUFoL, in conjunction with other committed groups, has written, stamped, and mailed several hundreds of postcards.  There is still time to connect with phone banks and door knocking, for the work is not done, yet.  We must help to assure that democracy remains intact in the USA!

    THE INN MINISTRY
While gathering items for the Rummage Sale, please keep coats, jackets, sweaters, warm pants and blankets for the folks at the Inn, as winter is approaching.  Folks continue to need food, including protein, such as canned meats and fish.  For the folks not on the road, but struggling to feel their families, hotdogs and sliced meats are good.  Instant grits and oatmeal, quick-cooking rice, ramen noodles, and boxes of mac&cheese work well for those with microwaves.  Fresh produce is a blessing – fruit and veggies.  Janet and Jim wash broccoli, carrots, whatever they get, and bag them.
