Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lafayette
November’s theme is MISSION and VISION
“Life is a mission, not a career. A career is a profession, a mission is a cause. A career asks, ‘What’s in it for me?’ A mission asks, ‘How can I make a difference?’”
Sean Covey

HAPPENINGS
POTLUCK SUNDAY
This coming Sunday, November 17, is Potluck Sunday.
We hope you will stay to share a meal with us. Bring a dish to share if you can. But, if you can’t, that’s okay. There will be plenty of food for all.
The Gathering Discussion Group: Saying goodbye to Rev. Julien
It was fun having new folks join the discussion group. Rev. Julien led the group. The November topic was centered around our monthly theme of Mission and vision. This was Julien’s last time at leading the group. She is moving to Mexico. It has been a great joy having her among us. Although she will be sorely missed, we wish her happiness on her new adventure.
Thanksgiving at Morris & Linda’s
Linda and Morris Hoagland have graciously invited the UU Fellowship to Thanksgiving dinner at their home. They will provide turkey, mashed potatoes and dressing. People are asked to bring a dish and their drinks. The RSVP info will be posted Sunday.
Lunch Bunch
The Lunch Bunch group met at Spoonbill after service on Sunday November 3. Everyone is invited. Each Sunday we choose a restaurant where we continue to socialize.
THE INN MINISTRY
We could use coats, jackets, sweaters, warm pants, socks and blankets for the folks at the Inn, as winter is approaching. Folks continue to need food, including protein, such as canned meats, beans and fish, all with pull tops. For the folks not on the road, but struggling to feed their families, hotdogs and sliced meats are good. Instant grits and oatmeal, quick-cooking rice, ramen noodles, and boxes of mac&cheese work well for those with microwaves. Fresh produce is a blessing – fruit and veggies. Janet and Jim wash broccoli, carrots, whatever they get, and bag them.
